Quinine in Tonic Water
The Acclaim® PolarAdvantage (PA) column can be used to rapidly determine flavor additives, such as quinine, as well as a preservatives, such as benzoic acid.
Analysis of Soft Drinks Ingredients
This slide illustrates the use of a Dionex HPLC system, in combination with Dionex Acclaim Organic Acid (OA) column technology, to analyze a broad range of ingredients which are often added to soft drink products. This liquid chromatography technology aids in the quality control processes important to reliable soft drink production.
Organic Acids in Orange Juice
The slide shows the use of the Acclaim Organic Acid (OA) column and UV detection to determine organic acids in orange juice. A Dionex OnGuard® P cartridge was used to remove aromatic compounds that could potentially interfere with this analysis.
Organic Acids in White Wine
Dionex HPLC systems and columns can deliver rapid analysis of key organic acids in a wine sample.
Bitter Principle in Beer
The hop components, which result in the bitter principles in a märzen-style beer, can be determined using the Dionex HPLC system and Acclaim reversed-phase HPLC column technology. The ability to separate and quantify such complex mixtures is extremely important to food product development.
Organic Acids in Beverages
Using reversed phase HPLC separation and UV absorbance detection, many organic acids can be detected in beverage products. This chromatogram is an excellent example of the power of this method for a broad range of organic acids, using Dionex HPLC, Dionex Acclaim Organic Acid (OA) columns, and UV detection at 210 nm. One precaution, however, is that the organic acid must have a suitable chromophore, to allow detection by UV absorption. In addition, potential interfering (co-eluting) compounds must not be UV active.
Organic Acids (Low Molecular Weight)
Using a Dionex HPLC system and the Dionex Acclaim OA (organic acid) column, low molecular weight organic acids can be rapidly determined.
